Every field, every farm, every stream has a part to play in reducing flooding, water conservation and erosion control

Adaption to Climate Change

All participating catchments in the project have different characteristics but similar problems. These problems do not stop at borders therefore shared learning, responses and outcomes will be of wider benefit. Through cooperation we will achieve better results than when all partners work separately. We can learn from the different approaches undertaken in each catchment and exchange knowledge on techniques. There are differences of approach between countries, which provides a useful learning opportunity.

For example the UK partners have less experience in erosion/water control measures than the Flemish/Dutch partners but have more experience in community-based action, farmer liason and private investments. By having similar pilots/trials, with a consistent monitoring and modelling strategy in various partner regions, the knowledge can be pooled and experiences shared.

Further information on the specific actions can be found here.
